Error UEXP appears when downloading payroll updates

There could be any reason mentioned below:

  • QuickBooks Desktop application not updated to the newest version.
  • Even after updating to the newest version of QuickBooks Desktop, there is a use of an outdated E-file and e-pay in the current company file.
  • Inactive payroll subscription in QuickBooks Desktop.

To fix the error, follow these steps:

  1. Update the newest version of QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Go to Employees, select My Payroll Service, then select Manage Service Key.
  • In case of direct deposit; click on Edit > Next. Now, you must uncheck the box of the Open Payroll Setup and click on Finish
  • In case of no use of direct deposit; choose Remove and click on Yes twice. 
  1. Now, again, download the payroll updates.

Check or get the latest tax table

  1. Begin by clicking on Employees, then choose the option Get Payroll Updates.
